The Okoboji Tile Shop Story
The Okoboji Tile Shop is built on experience from the ground up. Ben Zenor, owner of the OTS, started in the tile business as a mud running, tile cutting, grunt. For roughly a year and a half Ben worked for one of the better installers in the area. Precision and a drive to be the best is what was learned and gained from his experience as a grunt. After his apprenticeship ended, Ben went out and bought a $250 tile saw and a couple other small item tools and created his installation business, Zenor Tile LLC. That LLC was run out of whatever garage that Ben had access to for an 8-9 year span. Many custom showers, backsplashes and floors later Ben was ready to progress to the next logical step, selling the projects that he was installing.
As word got out and happy customers multiplied, the need for a central location and showroom became apparent. So in the last part of 2012, Zenor Tile LLC purchased a building that came up for sale in the heart of the Iowa Great Lakes. At 73 South Highway 71, sandwiched between 5 beautiful lakes that host a vibrant building community, The Okoboji Tile Shop staff is always wearing a smile these days.
Offering the best porcelain, stone and glass tiles, The Okoboji Tile Shop has an edge on the knowledge needed for a successful installation. High quality and reliability are certain when you commit to a project with the crew at The Okoboji Tile Shop. Recently the OTS has started selling cabinets and countertops, as well as a line of bamboo wood flooring and cork flooring.
